Mano Santa literally means: Holly Hand.
For centuries, the indigenous people of Chiapas have resided deep within the mountains of their homeland. Their relationship with nature and the craftmanship that involves using natural resources – they believe mother earth has all we need to survive and be happy - to make their clothes, instruments, and toys is part of the remarkable culture that defines them. We spent time with them. They invited us into their homes, and allowed us to witness these timeless traditions—to see the work that results in such craftsmanship that seems to have faded from the mainstream world. They believe that, with their artesanias, they protect their child’s dreams.
From that day, we knew that we wanted to work with them, combining their time-tested methods with our modern design. They generously agreed, and the rest, as they say, is history.
